I come from a home of educators. My wife is an early childhood teacher and my mom, now retired, taught 5th grade for 30+ years. I have seen first-hand how this career is much more than a job. Great teachers put all they have into their classrooms and are so invested in their students that they almost become an extension of their family. A lot of times these teachers go unappreciated. So, for my act of kindness today, I wrote a letter to my 4th grade teacher thanking her for being great. Although it has been 20 years since I was in her class, I wanted her to know that she made a huge positive impact on my life.
